Within the framework of the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030, training courses have begun with the participation of specialists from the UK CABI organization and the NRI Nature Research Institute, with the technical support of the European Union's Ask Facility program, Hans Dobson and Manfred Grossrider, who have almost 40 years of experience in the field of agriculture.
In the first phase of the program, from April 26 to May 30, 2022, the potential of specialists in the Agency system was studied and trainings on "IPM" were organized.
The current training courses are considered the second phase and will last from August 15 to 27. In this process, Agency employees will also improve their knowledge and skills on "IPM".
So, what is "IPM"? Integrated Pest Management is a coordinated fight against pests, a set of measures taken to prevent the population of harmful organisms.
Not only scientists from the Research Institute of Plant Quarantine and Protection, but also entrepreneurs are participating in these training courses. The goal is to improve the knowledge of the participating industry representatives in the field of "IPM", study world experience and introduce it into the national phytosanitary sector.
At the end of the training course, 20 participants will receive a special certificate. Later, based on the existing program, they will be able to train agronomists operating in the regions to improve their knowledge and skills in the "IPM" system.
